9 Paw-some Date Ideas for Dog Owners

1. Walk along the Reuss (Planet Trail):

The approximately one-and-a-half-hour circular trail along the Reuss is worth a visit at any time of year and is ideal for four-legged friends. The Planet Trail depicts our solar system on a scale of 1:1,000,000,000.

On the walk, you can not only get to know each other better but also test your knowledge of the planets or learn something new together – and your furry friend will enjoy the extended walk!

2. Barefoot Path with Furry Friend

For a slightly different walking experience, why not try one of the many dog-friendly
barefoot paths in Switzerland? It's not only good for your feet and soul, but this unique date is also likely to be remembered for a long time. And your furry friend will surely enjoy the different scents, impressions, and the nature experience.

For example, the "Kitzelpfad" (Tickle Path) around Lake Härzli in Obwalden is dog-friendly.

3. Yoga class with dog - Doga

Does your beloved love yoga? Then Doga – Dog Yoga – is the perfect date for you and your furry friend. Dog yoga has been gaining increasing interest for many years and includes your dog in the exercises. This means not only two-legged friends benefit from a fitness boost, but also four-legged friends. In addition to a unique date, you also get to bond with your furry friend!

4. Paddleboarding or Canoeing

Before floating on cloud nine, you might not want to completely lose your footing yet – and that's a good thing! How great that there are plenty of paddleboards and canoes for rent around Lake Lucerne, so you can test out weightlessness together. Paws are also welcome on the water – and will surely appreciate a dip on hot days if balance isn't quite there yet. To ensure your furry friend's safety when you're still a bit unsteady, quickly grab a life jacket and off you go!

5. Something sweet for your sweethearts?

At Gelateria dell’Alpi, not only you but also your furry friend will be spoiled with culinary delights. Here you can end your date sweetly with your four-legged companion, as in addition to homemade sorbets and gelato, the ice cream parlor also offers doggy ice cream. As the saying goes, the way to a dog's heart is through its stomach.

6. Picnic at the Dog Beach

A classic for us, and for good reason. A picnic on a dog-friendly beach, preferably just before sunset on a warm summer night? We're already completely smitten, at least with the idea. Your furry friend will also love it and will surely welcome you directly into their pack.

While there's no designated horse or dog bathing area at Rotsee, you'll often find a nice spot where your furry friend can also go into the water.
